Breaking point

Mello had tried his patience on many levels since he'd acquired him. He'd bit, kicked, punched, clawed,and every other means of vicious attack he could try in the time he'd had him. None of that had really bothered him. Hurt, yes, but aside from the lone groin shot it had never made him angry.

Having his warnings ignored, however, did. He'd been very kind to the man on this day. He'd coddled him, let him roam loose on the grounds, and even let him attack and play without much int he way of retaliation. However, there was a point when enough was enough and he was still a healthy male in his prime.

He'd been trying to control himself because he didn't want to break his pet, but his pet insisted on doing something deliberately after finding out it was arousing? No.

That was an invitation.

Thus, that led to this, him bringing him into a room he hadn't intended to use for a few weeks yet, if that soon, and him flipping the man off his shoulders to press him down, belly down, on a soft, padded mattress. There were other things in the room, but they were nicely closeted away. No, first he'd make the man feel him, then he'd move on to -training- him.

Pleased with the reaction, he undid the others, then eased back to put the key down. "We're going to do your morning preparations in the bathroom today." He then waited to see if Mello could get up without help.

He couldn't even find it in himself to protest the implication that Sephiroth would still be joining him and watching. He should have been disgusted by the spark of relief that came with hearing he could actually use a toilet. But he was too drained to be disgusted by his situation anymore. He felt stagnant and unreal, and Mello sat up shakily, staring around the room from this new angle as if seeing it for the first time.

Slowly, he scooted to the edge of the bed, letting his legs hang down over it and staring at them as well as if trying to remember how they worked.

He smiled, then rose to his feet, moving in front of Mello and putting out his hands, waiting for the blond to get up.

Mello didn't take the offered help, but he did get the hint. Slowly, he used the edge of the bed to help himself to his feet, taking deep breaths. Despite his daily 'exercise,' he was stiff, muscles temporarily weak from disuse.

Taking a step experimentally, he found that he was still capable of that much at least, and was slightly grateful to nothing in particular.

He allowed the show of independence and stroked over his shoulders. "That's a good boy. Time to walk then." He backed toward the bathroom slowly, making sure Mello wouldn't fall.

He was shaky on his feet, and slow, but he was in no immediate danger of outright falling. Mello followed him into the bathroom, watching his feet as if to make sure they did what they were supposed to.

Pleased, he moved to the side and gestured him over to the toilet before padding to start a bath in the deep tub. "You can take care of that yourself this morning I trust."

He could barely remember the last time he'd been allowed to use a toilet, which was really quite telling. He'd been stripped of everything, every semblance of privacy and independence.

Mello didn't acknowledge him, silently moving to the toilet to take care of what he needed to.

He was looking forward to the bath, and he didn't even bother to quell the feeling. It was just a relief to be able to do something, anything else.

He hummed softly, waiting patiently for him to finish before stopping him at the side of the bath, studying his face, fingertips framing his jaw.

Mello lifted his face as those fingers traced his jaw, staring blankly at Sephiroth. But he stopped, even though he wanted to climb into the tub. Sephiroth was in the way, and it was too much effort to make him move.

He leaned down and pressed a soft kiss to his lips, clearly pleased with the compliance before he handed him into the tub to make sure he didn't slip.

The kiss on the lips seemed to surprise him, and Mello flinched back, startled, then curled up in one corner of the tub when he sank into the water. He wanted personal space, personal time. He wanted Sephiroth gone, but he didn't want to be chained back up, so he kept his mouth shut, suddenly feeling incredibly confused and lost.

"over here my detective." His words were almost a croon, and he gently drew him back into the middle of the tub. "Stretch out a bit."

"I've been stretched out on that bed for..." He didn't even know how long. It seemed like months, even though he was fairly certain it wasn't. Mello fell silent, shaking his head and trying to retreat back into his spot.

He gave him another treat for being such a good boy. He hadn't used his name since the day he'd taken him outside after all. "Only a bit Mello. I can't reach you properly with you curled up like that."

His breathing quickened for no apparent reason and he hugged his knees anxiously. "I don't want to. I want to stay here." It sounded more like pleading than he meant for it to. He just wanted to disappear.

"Shhh. It's alright my detective." He leaned over the edge of the tub, petting his shoulders and back in a familiar pattern. "It's alright."

The familiarity of the touch helped relax him again slightly. No matter how he'd hated it before, he'd come to expect, even crave that bit of contact between hours alone, laying there listlessly.

Mello let out a shuddering breath, slowly edging closer, though he remained mostly curled up.

He smiled and nodded to himself, using his other hand to gently press his knees down. "Washing first okay?"

Finally, Mello let him, resisting only slightly before giving in to the hand pushing his legs down.

He wanted Sephiroth to stop touching him and keep touching him all at the same time, and it made absolutely no sense. Mello swallowed, carefully remembering how to form sentences.

"I can... wash myself."

"I know you can. But not today." He kissed his temple. "You just enjoy the bath okay?" He continued to pet him even when he leaned to collect the washcloth.

"Come in the bath too," Mello suddenly blurted.

He blinked, staring at him for a beat before pulling his hands away so he could undo his shirt. "Alright."

He wasn't sure why he'd asked for that, but Mello didn't take it back. He hated Sephiroth. He knew that well and was under no illusions there. But the bath felt too big and he felt too small and he wanted Sephiroth naked too so he wouldn't be the only one. He waited quietly, watching him undress with no interest but vague expectation.

He stripped down with quick economy, then easily slid into the tub, settling behind the blond and draping an arm around his chest before picking up the washcloth. "Now, to wash."
