Breaking point

Mello had tried his patience on many levels since he'd acquired him. He'd bit, kicked, punched, clawed,and every other means of vicious attack he could try in the time he'd had him. None of that had really bothered him. Hurt, yes, but aside from the lone groin shot it had never made him angry.

Having his warnings ignored, however, did. He'd been very kind to the man on this day. He'd coddled him, let him roam loose on the grounds, and even let him attack and play without much int he way of retaliation. However, there was a point when enough was enough and he was still a healthy male in his prime.

He'd been trying to control himself because he didn't want to break his pet, but his pet insisted on doing something deliberately after finding out it was arousing? No.

That was an invitation.

Thus, that led to this, him bringing him into a room he hadn't intended to use for a few weeks yet, if that soon, and him flipping the man off his shoulders to press him down, belly down, on a soft, padded mattress. There were other things in the room, but they were nicely closeted away. No, first he'd make the man feel him, then he'd move on to -training- him.

Lifting his head to look around the kitchen, Mello obeyed stiffly. Sitting in a chair was uncomfortable, he thought. He didn't remember it being this uncomfortable. He fidgeted, getting used to the feeling again and trying to resist the urge to curl up in the chair. Instead, he forced his feet to remain flat on the ground so he was sitting up normally, hands folded on the table but clenched anxiously.

He moved over to the stove, opening a package and setting the contents in the double boiler, having gotten it from the fridge while Mello's head was turned to look at something else, his body blocking the view. Then he moved over to collect his frosting as well, setting the bowl on the table before going to the oven, which was off, but still warm.

He was fighting a losing battle trying to act normally. By the time Sephiroth turned back around to set the bowl on the table, Mello had drawn his legs back up, curling up in the chair with his arms around his knees.

He stared at the bowl of frosting for a minute or two before finally reaching over to dip a finger into it and taste it tentatively.

He moved over to get another bowl after setting the tray of rolls on the table, pouring the contents of the top of the double boiler into it with his body blocking the action. "Orange cream cheese, you like it?"

"It's... sweet." Which wasn't really an answer but he kept licking his finger so he probably liked it okay. He didn't reach for more though.

He'd had no appetite for a long time despite being forced to eat anyway, but the smells in the kitchen now were actually stimulating something close to a genuine desire for the food. It was an improvement.

"Very. I usually like my sweets milder, but I make an exception for that." He came back and set the other bowl down, then pushed it along the table so it was just out of Mello's reach as he settled himself in another chair.

"Me too," he murmured, eying the other bowl curiously. All the smells were melding in the kitchen, all too sweet, and he thought he'd smelled chocolate but he couldn't tell for certain.

He uncurled his legs to kneel on his chair instead, pushing himself up and trying to reach across the table to drag the bowl closer.

His lips twitched and he picked up a cinnamon roll, dipping it in the bowl and twirling it before offering it to the blond, it having a nice layer of chocolate on it. "You may eat this using your hands, but only because most of the enjoyment is taking them apart."

Mello gasped, freezing in his efforts when the roll came out all chocolate-covered. He stared, then reached for it with the first spark of genuine enthusiasm he'd displayed in weeks.

Taking it from Sephiroth, Mello paid no attention to the mess of melted chocolate getting all over his hands as he started to lick it off the bun, occasionally taking a nibble of the actual pastry.

He smiled, stroking his hair before putting his frosting on another and setting about picking it apart, eating it in layers from the outside in.

He was practically ignoring the cinnamon bun. Sure, he'd taken a few bites out of it, but most of Mello's attention was devoted to the chocolate. He licked all of it up, then meticulously nibbled away the top layer of anything it had touched. When there were no more traces of chocolate on the pastry, he set it down and proceeded to lick his hands clean hungrily. He paid attention to nothing else but getting every last drop of melted chocolate.

Incredibly amused, he picked up the pastry, then swept it into the bowl again before putting it back down.

Mello didn't even notice until it was back in front of him, dripping onto the table. He snatched the newly-dipped pastry back up, repeating the process of before. He'd been weeks without chocolate, without any of all, and it was the only thing in this prison that made him feel the tiniest bit more like himself. The taste was familiar, soothing, and he let himself drown in it, blocking out everything else. When the remaining (mostly inner) portions of the bun were clean of chocolate again, he began to swipe the drops on the table up with the pads of his fingers to lick them up too.

He let him, finishing off his own and cleaning his fingers before just leaning over and petting Mello, curious to see how long it would be before he looked at him.

It took exactly as long as it took for Mello to realize there was no more chocolate within reach. He lifted his head finally, just then seeming to realize he was being petted. Glancing at Sephiroth only briefly, he lifted himself up on his knees again and reached for the bowl.

He reached out and caught his hand. "Ask nicely."

Mello stared up at him as if he'd never seen him before, but didn't seem to realize he should try to pull his hand away.

"I want more chocolate." It was phrased like a demand, but his tone was anything but.

"Yes you do. And why should I give you more chocolate?"

His brow furrowed and he stared at Sephiroth with a wounded expression.

"It's right there. And I want some." Why couldn't he have it? Mello tried to pull his hand free from Sephiroth's.

"Good reasons." He gently tightened his fingers. "Now ask me nicely."

"I--" He had to think. He felt dizzy for no good reason, and he had to think about how to ask 'nicely' because it was such a rare word...

"Please," Mello managed, softly, still staring up at Sephiroth with wide eyes.

"See Mello? That's all you needed to say." He nudged the bowl closer. "You know how to be good."

It was harder for him than Sephiroth realized, Mello thought, but was soon distracted from sulking by the bowl he now dragged in front of him.

He didn't even bother with the remainder of his bun. He dipped the four fingers of his hand in and scooped out a dollop of chocolate straight into his mouth, licking it eagerly.

He sighed, glad he'd only melted a little bit, and he continued to stroke the blond's hair.

Most of it was gone with that scoop of his hand, and Mello picked up the bowl when he was done with that, licking the edges and sliding his fingers across the bottom to get as much as possible of the chocolate clinging to the bowl. It was clear that he wasn't giving it up until there was absolutely no more chocolate to be had.
