Time of Transition

He made no move to return Mello to his room when morning came. In fact, a good week later there was still no move being made to that extent, and on that morning, when Mello woke it was to the now usual configuration of Sephiroth being wound around him, pinning his hands. This time, however, the act was accompanied by the silver haired man actually being asleep still.

Not to say they hadn't been spending all their time together, but Mello hadn't had the chance to see him asleep until then, him holding out for the blond to sleep and then rising before he could.

"It's a start!" Mello practically screamed at him, shooting again. He didn't know what to do. He was desperate and frustrated and he just wanted Sephiroth gone from his life.

The shooting meant that he wasn't inclined to properly come out. "How many bullets does that have?"

"As many as I want it to." Mello's answer was confident. He'd grown accustomed to the fact he could create things here rather quickly, if it was to his advantage.

He smiled slightly. "Everything that's possible, and you chose a gun, why?"

The answer was simple enough, to him. "Because it's a weapon I know how to use well."

"And what would you do if I used my weaponry?"

"Depends on the 'weaponry,'" he pointed out dryly, pausing in his attacks for now.

"I use blades." He peered around the edge of the wall.

"Are you testing whether I'd be chivalrous and use a sword too?" Mello scoffed, not lowering his gun even if he wasn't actively shooting right now.

"What's the point in telling me this? What was the fucking point of bringing me here?"

"You wanted the opportunity, didn't you? And no, I was just curious if you'd even care about the blade matter." He finally came into view, dressed in leather pants and boots and nothing else.

"I wanted the opportunity to destroy you," he reminded, leveling gaze and gun on Sephiroth. That had been specifically what he was interested in. "Not to trap myself here or have you torment me further in a dimension where you can become invisible."

"Not invisible." He finally padded closer. "If you search hard enough, I'm sure you can find the innocent bits and pieces, and it would doubtless hurt me a great deal if you harmed them. Good luck with that method though."

The way Mello cocked the gun was a warning not to come closer.

"No. I'm not interested in that." Hunting down any worthwhile part that might be buried deep in Sephiroth's consciousness and killing it didn't sound particularly palatable. Or really that useful, actually.

"I want you dead, not even crazier than you already are."

"Well, I won't die, so what does that leave you?" He cocked his head. "Hmmm?"

Goddammit, he didn't know. He didn't know what he was doing, how this was even possible. Frustrated, Mello did the only thing he did know how to do and shot again, this time at Sephiroth's stomach. "Just shut up!"

He twisted away, inhumanly fast. "Do you want to go right back then?"

"No!" He didn't know what he wanted. It was a terrible feeling and he gave up shooting to try to strike Sephiroth directly in the face with the metal weapon. "What's the fucking point?"

He jerked back from the attack. "So frustrated."

"And you're insufferable," Mello snapped back.

"You don't want to go back and you don't want to remain. Do you just wish to die?"

"No!" Mello shouted again, trying to punch him this time, lunging forward. "I want you to die! I want to go home!" He barely realized what he was saying anymore, pent-up frustrations exploding violently, loudly, in yelling and fighting.

He moved enough the punch didn't hit his face, but it -did- hit him. "What would you even do with yourself if I took you home?"

"Be away from you," Mello snarled, striking out again. Go back to his real life. His real lover. No matter what he said, he did still want him.

"And do what? You think you haven't changed?" He let himself be hit, not retaliating.

"It won't matter," Mello insisted loudly, attacking relentlessly even if it was like attacking a brick wall. He wouldn't let Sephiroth tell him otherwise.
