Breaking point

Mello had tried his patience on many levels since he'd acquired him. He'd bit, kicked, punched, clawed,and every other means of vicious attack he could try in the time he'd had him. None of that had really bothered him. Hurt, yes, but aside from the lone groin shot it had never made him angry.

Having his warnings ignored, however, did. He'd been very kind to the man on this day. He'd coddled him, let him roam loose on the grounds, and even let him attack and play without much int he way of retaliation. However, there was a point when enough was enough and he was still a healthy male in his prime.

He'd been trying to control himself because he didn't want to break his pet, but his pet insisted on doing something deliberately after finding out it was arousing? No.

That was an invitation.

Thus, that led to this, him bringing him into a room he hadn't intended to use for a few weeks yet, if that soon, and him flipping the man off his shoulders to press him down, belly down, on a soft, padded mattress. There were other things in the room, but they were nicely closeted away. No, first he'd make the man feel him, then he'd move on to -training- him.

"I don't want to be here!" Mello insisted loudly, barely listening and suddenly incredibly upset. He squirmed in Sephiroth's arms, trying to strike him in any way he could. "Don't touch me! Let go! I need to go home!"

"I know." His voice stayed soft, and he refused to release his hold. "But that will change too."

"No! Let go! Let go!" Mello screamed at him and thrashed in his grip-- but he tired quickly, struggling feebly against Sephiroth's hold and still repeating the same things over and over.

"Shhhh, my dear one, shhhh. You're not all alone. That life is no longer yours to have but it's not all bad, you'll see, you just have to let me show you. You'd feel treasured if you'd just be a good boy for me. I'd make sure of it." He held him securely, murmuring in gentle, reassuring words.

"I don't want to," Mello argued breathlessly, and it was almost a sob. "I don't want to be treasured by you. I'm not a pet. Let go of me..."

Even past his stubbornness, it was getting rather difficult to keep reminding himself why he had to keep struggling, why he shouldn't just give in and let Sephiroth do as he pleased. It earned him chocolate and pastries and baths, after all... But he couldn't. Giving up would mean essentially letting go of his humanity. Mello was convinced of that-- and yet it was still so hard to remember when Sephiroth never raised his voice and simply kept repeating such things to him soothingly.

"I know, my detective, I know you don't." He nuzzled his temple and crooned softly, kneading his upper back. "But I've been very patient. I want you very much, but I'm waiting for you to let me. Have you noticed that? Has my smart boy noticed that?"

"Stop talking to me like I'm an animal," Mello snarled against his chest, having stopped struggling finally. He was far from relaxed though, trembling in Sephiroth's arms.

"Have I expected too much of your insight?" He said that even more softly.

"You aren't interested in my insight," Mello pointed out stiffly.

"Then why would I want to know if you've -noticed-?"

"I've noticed." Mello scoffed, trying to draw away from him again. "Be patient all you want. I'm never going to let you do what you want. I am not an object to keep." And if he ever did let him, Mello thought grimly, he'd have to be out of his mind. The problem, of course, was that he knew he was slowly heading in that direction.

He needed to get out of here. He needed help.

...No, help should have come long ago, if it was coming. He was on his own.

"Good boy. That's all I wanted you to say." He hugged him close. "Was that you -knew-."

Mello shoved at him harshly. "Get off me."

"Do you really think that acting like that will get you -anything- you want?"

"No," Mello answered honestly. But he was hoping it would keep him sane and fighting.

"Well at least you realize you're denying yourself, that will have to do." He kissed his cheek.

"I am denying you," Mello corrected coldly.

"Haven't you realized yet?" He kissed over his cheekbone. "When you do these things you make -yourself- unhappy."

"At least I'm still myself," he muttered resentfully, craning his head away.

"Of course you are. I wouldn't be happy if you stopped being you."

"Then you want the impossible," Mello informed him coldly.

"Not at all. You can be you without being utterly hateful, my detective."

"I'm not utterly hateful," he spat. "Just toward you."

"You can be that way as much as you like to everyone else. But not to me, that is what needs changing."

"Not gonna happen," Mello snarled, then suddenly tried to bite him.
