Resting his forehead against the mattress, Mello listed off seriously:
"You're a control-freak, possibly with an inferiority complex. You need to be in charge of your surroundings, including the people in them, going so far as to see everything and everyone beside yourself as an object. You respect no one-- and if you do, I bet I'd really hate them too."
All the touches continued to be ignored, but Mello did not relax, stiff and unresponsive beneath his hands.
"You have power, and that makes you believe you're better than everyone. Of course, you'll say it's not a belief, that it's a fact. I know you think that. Everything you perceive is twisted through your self-absorption and your need to be above everyone. If you ever had a conscience, that's what has destroyed it by now."
